1. Preparation

• Parental Consent: Parents must opt for cord banking and sign consent forms pre-delivery.
• Collection Kit: A sterile, pre-labeled kit is provided to the healthcare team.

2. During Delivery

• Clamping & Cutting:
  After the baby is born, the umbilical cord is clamped and cut by the obstetrician, following standard delivery protocols.
• This step is part of routine childbirth and poses no risk to the mother or baby.

3. Cord Collection:

• For cord tissue (lining), a 6 cm segment of the umbilical cord closest end to the baby is placed in a sterile container provided.

4. Post-Collection Handling

• The collected tissue is sealed in temperature-controlled environment and picked up by our lab personnel.
